Rosie Motene is a pan-African feminist, award-winning author, documentary producer, and activist with over 30 years in media and 20 years in feminist advocacy. She is also a TEDx speaker, global facilitator, and consultant. Rosie holds a BA in Dramatic Arts from Wits University and certifications in sexual abuse counseling, PTSD, trauma-informed care, trauma debriefing, and breathwork facilitation. She received her feminist political education through POWA and the 1in9 Campaign. A registered counselor and life coach, her work centres on healing justice and survivor support. Rosie has collaborated with Eve Ensler’s V-Day movement and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro twice to raise awareness about violence against women and children—on behalf of UN Women and the Tomorrow Trust. She currently serves as Co-Chair of The Other Foundation and has held board roles with POWA, Childline Gauteng, Tomorrow Trust, Infinite Family, and the Johannesburg Children’s Home.
