Lorraine Shabangu is a language practitioner and communications strategist with extensive experience across diverse media formats and platforms. With over a decade in the fields of language, media, and academia, she has developed a strong foundation in strategic communication, content creation, and advocacy work. Lorraine is currently pursuing a PhD in African Languages and Linguistics at the University of the Witwatersrand.

Her professional journey is deeply rooted in a commitment to social change and the advancement of human rights. Lorraine also contributes her expertise as a member of the Gauteng Geographical Names Committee. In all her roles, she works to elevate marginalised voices and support inclusive, transformative policy and practice.
